New Year Art Resolution: Evolving My Artistic Process in Belfast

The new year brings fresh inspiration and determination to elevate my artistic practice. At my Belfast studio, I’ve been reflecting on my journey and planning how to evolve my work this year.

Refining My Painting Process

This year, I’ll dive deeper into textures, colors, and themes that captivate me. Nature, especially Northern Ireland’s seascapes, remains my greatest muse. I plan to experiment more with layering techniques and explore how to capture light and movement vividly on canvas. I’ll also dedicate more time to on-site sketching trips to absorb the raw essence of inspiring landscapes.

Enhancing the Studio Process

The studio is where the magic happens. I’ll reimagine my workspace to encourage creativity and experimentation. I’ll add new tools

and materials to inspire innovation. Collaborating with other talented artists at Owen Cork Mill will continue to spark fresh ideas and support growth.

Sharing My Work with the Public

Engaging with the Belfast community and beyond is essential to my journey. This year, I’ll focus on building a cohesive body of work for my 2025 so

lo exhibition. I’ll also participate in local art markets, like St. George’s Market, to connect with art enthusiasts and share the stories behind my pieces.

I’ll collaborate with local organizations like Linen Hall Library and Golden Thread Gallery to reach new audiences and spark discussions about themes close to my heart, such as the natural environment and climate change.

Looking Ahead

This resolution isn’t just about creating art. It’s about enjoying the process, collaborating with creatives, and connecting with the public in meaningful ways. I’m excited to see where this year takes me and to share the journey with you.

Here’s to a year of creativity, growth, and inspiration! Stay tuned for updates from the studio and beyond.
