Creating in the studio

Karolina painting at her studio in BelfastEvery artist understand the significance of their work space. Working in the large room with huge window, allow me to take the advantage of sun light and add the blast to my work. It is where my creativity flows, ideas take shape and the (magic) art happens. for me, that space is my studio, safe space where I bring my visions to life. What makes it truly special is the large yellow window that floods the room with warm inviting light.

In this blog post, I would like to take you on a journey through moments of creating in the studio, sharing how this unique nature has shaped my creative process and inspired my work.

The dance of light and shadow

The angle of the sun throughout the day creates an ever-changing canvas of light and shadow. This dance of light is like a gentle reminder that my art is in constant flux, just like the world outside. The rays of sunlight playfully touch different corners of the studio, illuminating the blank canvas, my tools, and the array of paints on my worktable. It’s an enchanting sight that invites me to explore new ideas and experiment with colors and textures.

Yellow window

Imagine a massive, sunshine-yellow window that takes up an entire wall of my studio. When I first set foot in this space, I was immediately captivated by the natural light that poured in. It’s a striking contrast to the conventional notion of a studio filled with artificial lighting. The yellow hue infuses the room with a sense of positivity, energy, and creativity.

One of the most profound effects of my studio’s yellow window is how it has become a muse in itself. I often find myself drawn to paint the window itself, capturing its beauty, energy, and the way it transforms the space. These artworks serve as a homage to the very source of my creative energy. Beyond its role as an inspiration, the large yellow window provides a sense of serenity. When the world feels chaotic, stepping into my studio is like entering a tranquil haven where I can find solace and create with a clear mind.

Statment

As an artist, I’ve always found a deep connection between my work and the natural world. The large yellow window serves as a constant reminder of this connection. I can gaze outside and find inspiration in the changing seasons, the sway of leaves, and the play of light on the foliage. This connection with nature reflects in my art, whether through vibrant landscapes, intricate floral designs, or abstract interpretations of the world around me.

In my journey as an artist, I’ve realized that the space in which we create is not just a physical location but a source of inspiration and a reflection of our inner world. My studio, with its large yellow window, has become a place of profound significance, shaping my art and nurturing my creative spirit. It’s a reminder that art is not just about the finished product but the journey, the process, and the connection between the artist and their surroundings.
